The science
Your body cools itself by evaporating sweat. When indoor humidity is high, sweat can't evaporate efficiently, so you feel hotter — even when the thermostat reads a comfortable temperature.
The Florida problem
Our outdoor humidity is extreme. If your AC isn't controlling indoor humidity well, your home feels muggy and warm no matter how low you set the thermostat.
The real fix
Cranking the AC lower wastes energy and still leaves you clammy. The better solution is controlling humidity directly with a whole-home dehumidifier, which keeps indoor humidity at a comfortable 45-55%.
